Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited the public to submit ideas for his 12th consecutive Independence Day speech, scheduled for August 15, 2025, at the Red Fort . Posting on X, he urged: “What themes or ideas would you like to see reflected in this year’s Independence Day speech? Share your thoughts on the Open Forums on MyGov and the NaMo App…” .
This initiative continues Modi’s decade‑long commitment to participatory democracy, where citizen input helps shape national narratives and priorities . Platforms like MyGov, launched in 2014 to crowdsource governance ideas, and the NaMo App allow users from across India to contribute suggestions on key themes, development stories, youth empowerment, or innovations they wish to see featured . Selected ideas may be woven into the speech, reflecting grassroots aspirations.
Traditionally, Modi has used these forums to highlight topics such as Viksit Bharat @ 2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, women empowerment, and India’s digital progress, aligning national discourse with people’s voices . The call represents a growing digital governance trend in India—where citizens directly influence messaging through platforms designed for public participation.
