In a shocking incident from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a patient named Sunil reportedly bled to death in the emergency ward of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College after being left unattended for hours. A video that has gone viral on social media shows junior doctors allegedly sleeping in an air-conditioned room while the patient lay on a stretcher in severe pain.
The victim’s family claimed he was left crying for help, but no medical attention was provided. Two junior doctors have been suspended following a preliminary inquiry.
Medical negligence in government hospitals remains a persistent concern, and this tragic incident has reignited public anger over patient care standards. Authorities have assured a full investigation. The State Medical Education Department has sought a report from the college, and further action is expected.
Sunil’s death has once again raised urgent questions about healthcare accountability and emergency response systems in India.
