Pant's century powers India, but England strike back before lunch on day 2!

On Day 2 of the India vs England Test, India resumed play at 359/3, with Skipper Shubman Gill (147) and Rishabh Pant (134) dominating the early session. The duo added 95 fluent runs, showing composure and aggression in equal measure. Pant’s century, a well-paced mix of flair and control, marked his strong return to form.

However, just as India looked set for a mammoth total, England bounced back. Both Gill and Pant were dismissed in quick succession, triggering a mini-collapse. The home bowlers - led by a disciplined spell from the seamers - managed to take four wickets in the session, bringing India to 454/7 at lunch.

While India still holds a strong position, England’s morning fightback has injected fresh energy into the match. With the lower order at the crease, the post-lunch session could prove crucial in determining the momentum heading into Day 3.
