Meet Bob Rides — a fresh entrant in India’s mobility space that seeks to solve a real commuter pain-point: switching between multiple ride apps like Ola, Uber and Rapido for each trip. The idea originated from founder Jai Adithya Poorana’s own experience of commuting long distances during college and toggling between apps just to find a usable ride. From September 2025 the app launched nationally, initially targeting metro cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. It integrates multiple platforms so users can compare prices and ride types and then book directly within Bob, avoiding the hassle of installing and logging into several apps.
Technology-wise, Bob uses a React Native frontend, Node.js/Express backend and ties into platforms including the government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to maintain transparency and interoperability. The startup has also secured a ₹2 crore technical grant from Microsoft India including cloud credits to build infrastructure.
While the ride-hailing market is crowded, Bob positions itself not as yet another competitor but as a layered aggregator that complements existing platforms. Its early traction — thousands of users within the first month — suggests demand for simplified mobility flows. The journey ahead includes scaling to new cities, launching delivery/logistics services and monetising through convenience-fees and advertising. In essence, Bob aims to make urban travel seamless, putting choice and efficiency first.
