Netflix is already winning summer streaming with a new psychological thriller that’s sending shockwaves online. The German-language film “Brick”, directed by Philip Koch and starring real-life couple Matthias Schweighöfer and Ruby O. Fee, drops on July 10, 2025. The premise? The pair, and their neighbors, wake to find their apartment block entirely walled in by an impenetrable brick barrier overnight, with no water, no signal, and no escape in sight.
The first trailer delivers mounting claustrophobia, tense standoffs, and chilling psychological unraveling reminiscent of “10 Cloverfield Lane” and “The Platform.” Audiences are already comparing it to the genre’s best single-location thrillers. With an ensemble that includes Frederick Lau, Salber Lee Williams, and Sira‑Anna Faal, “Brick” promises stylish visuals, gripping suspense, and a twist that could leave viewers reeling till the end.
Fans of mind-bending, confined-space narratives will want this at the top of their watchlist. From director Koch, known for his knack for atmospheric dread, “Brick” could become the claustrophobic hit of the summer. Netflix’s psychological thriller appetite isn’t slowing down, and this one is poised to capture the genre’s crown.
