Lucknow man arrested with over 5,000 bottles of fake cough syrup!

In a significant bust in Lucknow, authorities arrested a man after confiscating 5,353 bottles of fake cough syrup from his home. The Central Bureau of Narcotics discovered that the syrup was illicitly manufactured, containing powerful sedatives like alprazolam and clonazepam, and mislabelled to resemble genuine codeine-based products.

The suspect lacked any legal documentation or license to store or sell these pharmaceutical products. The entire consignment was seized under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and investigations are now underway to unravel the broader network behind this illegal operation.
