Four Indian schools—from Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh—have been shortlisted as finalists in the annual World’s Best School Prizes 2025, held in the UK to honour institutions making outstanding societal contributions.
Topping the list is the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, NIT‑5, Faridabad (Haryana), recognized in the Supporting Healthy Lives category. The school integrates nutritional programmes, physical wellness, and mental-health initiatives to support at‑risk girls. From Maharashtra, ZP School Jalindar Nagar, Pune shines in the Community Collaboration category. It stands out for its innovative peer‑learning “Subject Friend” model that encourages multi‑age student mentorship.
Ekya School, J P Nagar (Bengaluru) represents Karnataka in the Innovation category, using a design-thinking curriculum to foster proactive problem-solving and creative thought .
Rounding off the quartet is Delhi Public School, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), shortlisted in the Environmental Action category for its learner-centric approach emphasizing environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
Winners will be announced in October, with top schools receiving accolades and potentially joining the “Best School to Work” programme to bolster teacher recruitment and retention.
