Mumbai’s Juhu Police have arrested Vedika Prakash Shetty, the former personal assistant and secretary to Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, for allegedly embezzling ₹76.9 lakh from Bhatt’s personal and production accounts. After evading law enforcement for five months, Shetty was apprehended in Bengaluru and remanded in custody until July 10.

The arrest stems from an investigation into financial irregularities tied to Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd—Bhatt’s production house—as well as funds siphoned from the actor’s personal accounts during Shetty’s tenure. Authorities say the accused abused her trusted position to funnel money quietly over time. The prolonged scrutiny highlights vulnerabilities in handling financial oversight within high-profile Bollywood setups.

Police began tracing Shetty following discrepancies flagged in internal audits. A coordinated investigation led officers to track her movements across multiple cities before finally locating her in Bengaluru. Investigators confirmed no crew were harmed during apprehension, and Shetty is currently in judicial custody ahead of hearings.
