A major infrastructure milestone is on the horizon as the Chandigarh–Ambala Greenfield Corridor a six-lane, 61.23-km expressway with an estimated cost of ₹3,167 crore nears completion.
The corridor is being constructed in two distinct phases. Package 2, spanning 30 km from IT City Chowk in Mohali to Kurali, is an almost fully completed Mohali–Kurali bypass, currently at 95% completion and slated to open by September 30, 2025. This bypass will reduce traffic on NH-205-A, providing smoother access to Mohali, Kharar, and Kurali, and improving connectivity to Mohali International Airport.
Meanwhile, Package 1 covers the stretch from Devinagar on the Ambala–Hisar road to IT City Chowk (about 31.23 km). At 65% completion, this section including flyovers, underpasses, and service roads is expected to be operational by March 2026.
Once operational, the expressway will be a vital link boosting traffic fluidity between Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir. Early development along its corridor is already fueling real estate growth in areas like IT City Mohali, New Chandigarh, Kharar, and Kurali.
