WhatsApp has reintroduced its classic ‘About’ feature with a modern twist, making it more useful and expressive for users. The updated version now allows people to share a short phrase paired with an emoji to show what they are doing or how available they are. Whether someone is busy, travelling, working, or simply stepping out, the new About offers a quick way to communicate without sending a message or posting a full Status.

A major addition is the auto-disappearing timer. By default, an About update disappears after 24 hours, but users can customise how long it stays visible. This option can be found under Settings > Set About, giving users control over their visibility and privacy.

The redesigned layout also makes the About section more noticeable and interactive. WhatsApp aims to make availability updates lightweight and relevant, especially for people whose schedules change throughout the day.
