On September 3, 2025, the Rajasthan Assembly enacted the Rajasthan Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Bill, 2025, aimed at restructuring the state's coaching industry to prioritize student safety and holistic development. This law applies to coaching centres enrolling over 100 students and requires mandatory registration within three months of its commencement.
A new regulatory authority will oversee compliance across the state, while district-level committees headed by district magistrates, SPs, and health officers will manage local enforcement and grievance redressal. Centres must meet physical norms (minimum one sq m per student), employ graduate tutors, avoid misleading promotions, and put in place counselling systems with publicly accessible information about faculty, fees, and infrastructure. Class durations are capped at five hours daily, with mandatory weekly rest and stress-management sessions.
