Private educational institutions in Agra and Meerut were forced to evacuate students on Wednesday after receiving bomb threat emails. In Agra, Shri Ram School and Global School were promptly searched by bomb disposal and dog squads; thankfully, no explosives were found, confirmed ACP Vinayak Bhosale .

Authorities traced preliminary email headers to Kolkata, and a cyber cell investigation has been launched to identify the sender . In Meerut, Diwan Public School also received a similar threat. Fortunately, the school was closed due to the Kanwar Yatra, minimizing disruption. SSP Vipin Tada confirmed investigations are underway to trace the message origin .

This alert follows a recent wave of bomb hoax emails nationwide, including incidents in Bengaluru (40 schools) and Delhi, underscoring the scale of the threat and the challenges police face in tracing senders who often use VPNs, proxy servers, and foreign IPs . Parents have been advised to remain calm while security protocols are reviewed to ensure student safety.
