Dermatologists avoid these 5 common items at home…!

Ever wondered what dermatologists secretly avoid in their own homes? Delhi-based skin expert Dr Gurveen Waraich has revealed five everyday items most of us use… but she refuses to keep them anywhere near her skin. And the reasons are honestly shocking.

First on her list is the loofah - something many people use daily. According to her, loofahs are bacteria factories, collecting moisture and dead skin, which then lead to infections. Next are plastic combs, which irritate sensitive scalps and cause unnecessary breakage.

Surprisingly, even those popular nose strips are on the no-go list. Dr Waraich warns that they create micro-tears and damage the skin barrier.

Even makeup users aren’t spared - makeup wipes, though quick, are rough, unsustainable, and don’t actually clean the skin properly. And the biggest shocker? Anti-hairfall shampoos. She calls them a complete scam because hair fall is a medical condition, not something a shampoo can magically fix.

Her message is clear: skip shortcuts, choose science-backed care.
