Six months after India’s targeted counter-terror operation, Operation Sindoor, new intelligence reveals that Pakistan-based terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are actively re-mobilising for a fresh wave of attacks in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K).
According to the report, since September infiltration attempts and reconnaissance missions by LeT and JeM units have surged. These groups are reportedly utilising drone surveillance to map vulnerable gaps along the Line of Control (LoC) and reviving human-intelligence networks in the valley. Pakistan-based “Border Action Teams” made up of former SSG soldiers are believed to be backing these operations from across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, struck multiple training camps and leadership nodes of these terror outfits. However, analysts caution that while the damage was significant, the networks appear to be rebuilding - prompting security agencies in New Delhi to issue a “critical warning”.
With winter approaching - a season traditionally less active for infiltration - the resurgence of these groups signals a new cycle of proxy warfare. India’s Army and intelligence apparatus remain on heightened alert, working to pre-empt attacks and reinforce border defences.
The evolving picture underlines that while major operations like Sindoor can degrade terror infrastructure, they may not permanently deter motivated groups. The race is now on to shift from reactive strikes to sustained intelligence and structural disruption.
