In a dramatic turn, Cindy Rodriguez Singh who had been on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list since July 1, 2025 was arrested in India on August 20, 2025, and is now en route to the U.S. to face charges of capital murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Singh had been sought in connection with the disappearance and presumed death of her six-year-old son, Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, last seen in October 2022. Authorities discovered conflicting and false explanations from Singh claiming Noel was in Mexico or had been sold in a grocery store parking lot. Cadaver dogs also detected signs of human remains beneath a recently poured patio on the family’s property,

Singh, born in 1985 in Dallas and listed as fugitive number 537, had fled to India in March 2023 alongside her husband and six other children but notably without Noel.

With her arrest, authorities are now poised to extradite her to Texas, where she will face trial for the tragic case that drew international attention and a $250,000 reward for information leading to her capture.
