Kidney cancer is often called a "silent killer" because it rarely shows symptoms in its early stages. By the time warning signs like blood in urine or back pain appear, the disease may already be advanced. That’s why regular screening after the age of 40, especially for high-risk individuals, is critical.
People with a family history of cancer, high blood pressure, smoking habits, or long-term dialysis treatment are particularly vulnerable. For them, non-invasive imaging tests like ultrasounds or CT scans can detect small, localized tumors early - when treatment is most effective and survival rates are high.
Early detection dramatically increases the chances of a cure and may even allow for minimally invasive procedures rather than major surgery. In many cases, patients don't lose kidney function when tumors are caught early.
With modern diagnostic tools and rising cases among people in their 40s and 50s, routine kidney screening could be a life-saving step - and a smart one for long-term health.
