Project Aarohan empowers toll-plaza workers’ children's education!

Project Aarohan, unveiled by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in collaboration with Vertis Infrastructure Trust, aims to uplift the children of toll plaza employees across India’s national highways network. From July 2025 to March 2026, the first phase allocates ₹1 cr to support 500 students from Class 11 through graduation each receiving ₹12,000 annually. Additionally, 50 high-achieving students pursuing postgraduate or higher studies will be granted ₹50,000 each in scholarships.

Beyond financial aid, the initiative includes structured mentorship, skill-building workshops, career guidance, and progress tracking—offering holistic support to bridge socio-economic gaps. The project prioritizes inclusivity—focusing on girls from low-income households, first-generation learners, and students from EWS, SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. Implementation is handled by Bharat Cares (SMEC Trust), with applications accepted online via document uploads (academic records, income proof, caste certificate, ID).

Project Aarohan underscores NHAI’s commitment to nurturing future talent within communities that keep India’s highways running—supporting education, opportunity, and empowerment.
