Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet his UK counterpart, Keir Starmer, in Mumbai on October 9 as part of a two-day visit focused on infrastructure expansion and strengthening bilateral ties. The visit will feature the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, a ₹19,650 crore project designed to ease congestion at Mumbai’s main airport and enhance regional connectivity.
Modi will also dedicate the final stretch of Mumbai Metro Line-3, the city’s first fully underground corridor, and launch “Mumbai One”, an integrated mobility app connecting 11 public transport services. Additionally, he is expected to unveil a new statewide technical training program (STEP) to boost youth employability.
During his meeting with Starmer, discussions will center on trade, green technology, and investment opportunities under the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The leaders will also address the Global Fintech Fest 2025 and attend a CEO Forum at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre, emphasizing shared goals in innovation and sustainable growth. (
