One simple trick that helps you learn more in less time!

The Blurting Method is a high-impact, self-revision technique that taps into the power of active recall, helping students truly master what they’ve learned.  Rather than re-reading notes passively, blurting pushes learners to write down everything they remember—definitions, facts, explanations—without peeking at the material.

Here’s how to use it effectively:

  1. Organise your notes clearly, section by section.

    1. Hide your notes and blurt - write down all details you recall.  Then compare your output with the original using a different pen color to spot gaps.

Read and understand the target topic until you grasp key ideas.

    1. Review what's missing, fill in its gaps, then repeat the process until recall becomes smooth.

A key to success? Take frequent breaks—blurting is cognitively intense and works best in short bursts. This method builds confidence, reduces exam anxiety, and strengthens long-term retention. After a few rounds, you’ll notice faster recall and better understanding.
