Instagram is finally rolling out a feature users have demanded for years - the ability to repost others’ posts and reels, just like you do on Twitter or TikTok!
Unlike resharing on stories, this new feature will let you repost public posts directly - but with a twist. These reposts won’t clutter your main profile; instead, they’ll live under a dedicated ‘Reposts’ tab. This allows your followers to explore what you love without disturbing your feed’s aesthetic.
But wait, there’s more! Instagram is also launching a “Friends Feed” in Reels - letting you view only content liked, commented on, or posted by friends. It’s Instagram’s clear attempt to bring back that personal, close-knit vibe, which many users missed due to the algorithm-heavy feed.
These features, inspired by TikTok, are part of Instagram’s broader push to boost user satisfaction and reduce algorithm frustration. Users can also customize visibility by muting certain likes or comments.
The feature is live in the US and will roll out globally soon. It’s about time Instagram caught up with what users have long craved.
