The Israeli military has declared a daily 10‑hour “tactical pause” in hostilities across three populated Gaza zones—Gaza City, Deir al‑Balah, and al‑Mawasi—from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, effective for an unspecified duration starting Sunday. These areas reportedly lack active Israeli ground troops but have seen recent strikes, and the pause is intended to create space for humanitarian deliveries.
IDF plans include establishing secured travel corridors between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m., so aid agencies—together with UN and international partners—can reach civilians with food, water, and medical supplies. In parallel, Israel resumed aid airdrops, delivering essentials such as flour, sugar, and canned goods, as pressure mounts over severe malnutrition and famine warnings from U.N. and humanitarian organizations.
The announcement represents a response to escalating global condemnation—including from close allies—amid the ongoing Gaza war, which has intensified since its resurgence in March 2025. Hundreds of Palestinians have reportedly died near aid distribution points in recent weeks, and experts warn of catastrophic hunger across the enclave.
