From Income Tax to Speed Post - 5 Changes that will affect you!

1. Income Tax Return (ITR) Deadline Extended

  • Non-audited taxpayers now have until 15 September 2025 to file ITR.

  • Audited accounts deadline remains 31 October 2025.

2. Last Chance for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS)

  • Central government employees under NPS can opt for UPS until 30 September 2025.

  • Deadline extended from June due to low response.

3. SBI Credit Card Rules Change

  • From 1 September, reward points will not be earned for digital gaming, government websites, and select merchants.

4. Mandatory Silver Jewellery Hallmarking

  • Silver jewellery must be hallmarked from September 2025.

  • Ensures purity and protects consumers.

5. Registered Post Merges With Speed Post

  • From 1 September, all registered mail will now be delivered via Speed Post, ending separate registered post services.
