Tesla will inaugurate its first "experience center" in India on July 15 at Mumbai's Jio World Drive, marking a significant milestone in its Indian market entry. The U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer secured a 4,000 sq ft retail space in March, strategically located near Apple's flagship store.

This expansion is part of Tesla's broader Indian strategy, which includes a vehicle service facility in Mumbai's Kurla West leased in June. The company now operates four commercial properties in India: the new experience center, service facility, an engineering hub in Pune, and offices in Bengaluru and near Bandra Kurla Complex.

Despite leadership changes - India head Prashanth Menon stepped down last month after nine years - Tesla continues its planned rollout. China-based teams currently manage operations while the company searches for a successor. However, Tesla remains focused on retail rather than manufacturing, prioritizing showrooms and imported vehicle sales over local production.
