At just four years old, Manisha “Mannu” Prajapati endured severe burns in a tragic fire accident, leaving her with lifelong scars and near-unbearable emotional wounds. Yet, she survived not just physically but blossomed emotionally through the safe refuge of art and a supportive family system.
Growing up in Jhajjar, Haryana, Mannu’s early schooling was traumatic classmates recoiled at her appearance, and teachers raised discouraging barriers. New schooling and a few empathetic peers helped restore her confidence. She returned to art initially healing herself, later reaching others through her sketches and viral portraits, including one gifted to Deepika Padukone inspired by "Chhapaak".
By the 2020 lockdown, Mannu found a new outlet Instagram Reels. She began sharing makeup tutorials that transcended beauty norms. Despite facing mockery, she responded with gratitude, grace, and resilience. Her content not only highlighted her creativity but redefined beauty nurturing a growing online community that celebrates identity, strength, and self-worth.
