Microsoft has unveiled a new visual update to the battery indicator in its latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build (26120.3000 – KB5050103). This update introduces a color-coded battery icon system, designed to simplify the process of monitoring device battery levels at a glance.
According to a Microsoft blog post, the new icons aim to enhance user experience by clearly communicating battery status with intuitive color changes. The update includes simplified overlays that no longer obstruct the progress bar, making it easier to track charging progress. Additionally, users can now enable the display of the battery percentage directly on the icon, further improving clarity.
These enhancements are part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to refine usability and accessibility in Windows 11. By offering a quick and clear visual representation of battery states, the update ensures users can quickly determine whether their device needs immediate attention or is adequately charged.
Currently available to Insider Preview Build testers, the update is expected to be rolled out widely after successful testing and feedback.
