India marked its 76th Republic Day with a grand parade at Kartavya Path, featuring diverse tableaux and a display of cultural and social achievements. Sixteen states, Union Territories, and various Central Government departments participated, presenting themes that celebrated India’s heritage and development.
Andhra Pradesh's tableau emphasized sustainability with a theme of "Etikoppaka Bommalu," featuring eco-friendly wooden toys. Uttar Pradesh showcased the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh, while West Bengal highlighted its welfare schemes through its "Lakshmir Bhandar" and "Lok Prasar Prakalpa" tableaux. These vibrant displays underscored the unique cultural contributions and policy initiatives of each region.
The event began with President Droupadi Murmu unfurling the National Flag at Kartavya Path. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute at the National War Memorial, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. A special highlight was the participation of Indonesian military contingents, marching alongside their Indian counterparts.
The celebration reflected India's commitment to preserving its heritage while progressing towards development. It also strengthened international ties through Indonesia’s notable presence, marking the event as a blend of cultural pride and global cooperation.
