Simran, a prominent social media influencer known as ‘Jammu Ki Dhadkan’ to her 6,84,000 Instagram followers, tragically passed away at her Gurgaon residence on Wednesday night. The 26-year-old, originally from Jammu, had reportedly locked herself in her room since morning. Concerned flatmates broke open her door at 8:30 PM after repeated calls and knocks went unanswered. She was found hanging and rushed to a private hospital in Sector 46, where she was declared dead at 10:30 PM.

The Gurgaon Sadar police station was informed by the hospital, and forensic experts examined Simran’s room. No suicide note was found. Inspector Sunil Kumar revealed that an autopsy had been conducted, and the body was handed over to her family. The autopsy report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.

Simran’s family confirmed she had been battling depression but did not suspect foul play or register a complaint. Known for her cheerfulness, Simran’s last Instagram post, dated December 13, depicted her promoting a costume rental agency.

Her untimely demise shocked many, prompting condolences from prominent political leaders, including J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and JKNC President Farooq Abdullah. In a joint statement, they mourned her loss, emphasizing her contributions to Jammu and Kashmir's cultural landscape.

Simran had transitioned from a radio jockey in Jammu to a celebrated social media personality after relocating to Gurgaon in 2021. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her followers and the cultural community she represented.
