Speaking at the post-match ceremony, Yadav said: “We stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity.” He further added that the triumph was a tribute to the bravery of the forces, hoping the team could continue to inspire them through performances on the field. 

The Pahalgam attack earlier this year claimed civilian lives and reignited cross-border tensions. Yadav’s statement came against this charged backdrop, adding layers of sentiment to India’s sporting triumph. Head coach Gautam Gambhir echoed his words, praising the armed forces’ sacrifice and courage.
