New Vande Bharat Express to Cut Jammu-Srinagar Travel Time!

The highlight of the new service is the Vande Bharat Express, which will offer a fast and comfortable option for travelers. The Vande Bharat train is scheduled to complete its one-way journey in just 3 hours and 10 minutes, making it the quickest option for traveling between Jammu and Srinagar.

In comparison, the two mail/express trains will take 3 hours and 20 minutes for the same journey. The Vande Bharat train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) at 8:10 am and reach Srinagar by 11:20 am. The return journey from Srinagar will begin at 12:45 pm, with the train arriving back at SVDK at 3:55 pm.

Both the Vande Bharat and the mail/express trains will operate daily round trips. o ensure the trains can operate seamlessly during the harsh winter months, Indian Railways has made modifications to one Vande Bharat train and other fully air-conditioned trains to better adapt to the region’s climate.

These changes are part of an effort to ensure comfort and reliability for passengers traveling through the Valley, which is known for its extreme weather conditions in winter.

In addition to the new Vande Bharat Express, a total of six trains, including a Vistadome train, will continue operating in the region. These trains have already been running successfully and will remain part of the service, offering travelers a range of options for their journey.
