Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 17 series on September 9, and excitement is already building. At first glance, the iPhone 17 may look quite similar to the iPhone 16, but under the hood, several major upgrades are expected.
The iPhone 17 base model will reportedly feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch OLED screen with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, a first for non-Pro models. Apple may also use Samsung’s M14 OLED panel for better brightness and battery efficiency.
Performance-wise, the new A19 chipset promises improved AI efficiency, supported by up to 12GB RAM, making multitasking smoother. Running on iOS 26, the iPhone 17 introduces the “Liquid Glass” interface with a translucent design, redesigned Camera app, and new tools like Call Screening and Live Translate.
Camera hardware remains similar with a 48MP primary lens and 12MP ultrawide lens, but a new 24MP selfie camera is expected. Battery upgrades include bigger capacity and reverse wireless charging, allowing users to charge AirPods or Apple Watch on the go.
The iPhone 17 might look familiar, but the powerful upgrades make it a serious step up.
