India crashes to 133 in rankings, lowest in nearly a decade!

The Indian men's football team has slumped to its lowest FIFA ranking in nine years, dropping six places to 133rd position in Thursday's updated chart. The decline follows two crushing defeats in June - a 0-2 loss to Thailand and a shocking 0-1 defeat to lower-ranked Hong Kong in Asian Cup qualifying.

These poor results led to head coach Manolo Marquez's departure from the All India Football Federation. India's rating points dropped to 1113.22 from 1132.03 previously, placing them 24th among 46 Asian countries.

The team has managed just one win from their last eight matches, with the Hong Kong loss severely damaging their 2027 Asian Cup qualification hopes. India's next fixture is against Singapore in October.
