
She began writing at 16 and went on to publish over 100 works — from poetry to novels and memoirs. Her most iconic poem, "Ajj Aakhaan Waris Shah Nu", mourned the horrors of Partition and made her the voice of a wounded generation.
Her novel "Pinjar" exposed the trauma of abducted women during 1947, while her autobiography "Rasidi Ticket" revealed her bold life, including her love for Sahir Ludhianvi and bond with artist Imroz.
