Ola and Uber Make Maha Kumbh 2025 Travel Green, Easy, and Convenient

Ola, India's ride-hailing company, has announced a significant initiative to improve mobility for millions of pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the world's largest religious gathering. The event, running till February 26, is expected to attract around 400 million visitors, showcasing India's cultural and spiritual heritage.

Ola has placed 1,000 electric scooters within the Mela grounds to encourage eco-friendly transportation for pilgrims as they navigate the vast event area. This move is in line with Ola's commitment to offering tech-driven and environmentally conscious solutions for mass mobility.

In partnership with the event organizers, Ola has introduced several new services, including the Kumb Sah’AI’yak app. The app serves as a navigation and information platform, providing personalized recommendations about the Mela’s history, rituals, and attractions. It is available in multiple Indian languages and prioritizes data security, using advanced privacy features to ensure users' safety while combating misinformation.

Ola Consumer has also developed multiple services during Maha Kumbh 2025 to make travel seamless: electric vehicle shuttles, affordable cab hiring, and dedicated transit at airports and railway stations. These services are meant to give seamless, green traveling experiences for pilgrims while they are on the move.

Uber has also partnered with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to improve transportation for attendees. The company will, under an agreement signed in April 2023, set up dedicated pickup zones at Prayagraj Airport, provide clear signage, and offer a 25% discount on fares for pilgrims to make travel to the Maha Kumbh even more accessible and convenient.
