What are the main rituals performed during Hajj?

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and is a deeply spiritual journey for Muslims. Every year, millions of Muslims travel to Mecca to participate in this sacred pilgrimage, which involves a series of important rituals that honor the lives of the Prophet Muhammad and other key figures in Islam.

The journey begins with Ihram, a state of purity where pilgrims wear simple white clothes, symbolizing equality and humility before Allah. It marks the start of Hajj and involves specific rules about behavior, such as refraining from arguing or engaging in any sinful acts.

Once in Mecca, pilgrims perform Tawaf, circling the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction. This act represents unity among Muslims worldwide, all focused on worshiping Allah.

The next ritual is Sa'i, where pilgrims walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, commemorating Hagar's search for water for her son, Ishmael. This ritual symbolizes trust in Allah's provision.

One of the most important moments is Wuquf at Arafat, where pilgrims stand in prayer and seek forgiveness. This is seen as the most spiritually significant part of Hajj. Afterward, pilgrims spend the night at Muzdalifah, collecting pebbles for the stoning ritual.

Pilgrims then perform the Stoning of Jamarat, symbolizing the rejection of evil. The pilgrimage concludes with the Qurbani sacrifice, remembering Prophet Ibrahim's devotion to Allah, and a Farewell Tawaf, expressing gratitude for the journey.

Hajj is a life-changing experience, strengthening faith and fostering unity among Muslims worldwide.
