In the aftermath of the brutal Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 dead, India and Pakistan stand on the brink of a potential military confrontation. On the night of April 29- 30, Pakistani forces violated the ceasefire with unprovoked firing across the Line of Control in Naushera, Sunderbani, and Akhnoor sectors. The Indian Army responded swiftly and proportionately, signaling a firm stance against any provocation. Pakistan, meanwhile, has alleged that India is planning imminent military action, claims dismissed by Delhi as baseless. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has granted the Indian armed forces full operational freedom to respond at a time and place of their choosing.
The government has already suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and held high-level security reviews. With accusations flying and tensions rising, the subcontinent watches anxiously as diplomatic channels stall and military readiness ramps up, inching both nuclear-armed nations closer to a dangerous threshold.
