The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly condemned China’s repeated efforts to rename locations in Arunachal Pradesh, calling these attempts vain and unacceptable.
China claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of southern Tibet, which is why it continues to assert control by renaming places in the region. India firmly rejected this, emphasizing that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India and that no "creative naming" can change this fact.
Recently, China announced Chinese names for some places in Arunachal Pradesh, provoking India's response. Amid ongoing India-Pakistan military tensions, China's senior foreign ministry official, Liu Jinsong, met Indian Ambassador Pradeep Kumar Rawat to discuss bilateral issues.
Following India's precision strikes against terror targets after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, Pakistan launched cross-border attacks but agreed to a ceasefire after four days.
China welcomed this ceasefire, urging dialogue and negotiation for lasting peace and regional stability. China also expressed willingness to play a constructive role in maintaining peace between India and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, India's embassy in Beijing cautioned against misinformation on social media.
