
Two police officers were martyred and two others injured in a human bomb attack in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), on Sunday.
According to Peshawar's Capital City Police Officer, Qasim Khan, a police mobile was targeted near the Ring Road Mall Mandi area. One of the martyred was a sub-inspector.
Earlier that day, a policeman was also martyred in Gwadar during a gunfight that broke out after militants lobbed a hand grenade near a mosque.
In a separate incident in KP's Lakki Marwat district, police foiled a kidnapping attempt by terrorists in the Landewa Gorabai area.
During the rescue operation, three abducted individuals were safely recovered, two terrorists were killed, and a police officer was injured.
Pakistan is witnessing a sharp rise in militant violence, particularly in KP and Balochistan. In response, security forces have ramped up counterterrorism operations.
