Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota and son-in-law of Amitabh Bachchan, has been named in a legal case involving allegations of fraud and abetment to suicide, following a court directive in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, as per a News18 report.
The case revolves around Jitendra Singh, a tractor dealer, who was allegedly pressured by Nanda and several Escorts Kubota executives to meet unrealistic sales targets.
According to Jitendra's brother Gyanendra Singh, the accused, including company area managers, sales heads, and financiers, allegedly threatened to revoke his dealership and auction his property if he failed to meet targets.
Jitendra, who ran Jai Kisan Traders in Dataganj, was already under stress after his business partner, Lalla Babu, was imprisoned due to a family dispute. On November 21, 2024, a group of company officials reportedly visited Jitendra and pressured him once again. The next day, on November 22, Jitendra died by suicide.
Following the complaint, the Dataganj Police have registered fraud and intimidation charges against Nanda and several other executives. An investigation is underway, but as of now, Nikhil Nanda has not issued an official statement on the allegations.
