Google has introduced "100 Zeros," a new film and television production initiative in collaboration with Range Media Partners.
This multi-year effort seeks to identify and co-produce content that showcases Google’s emerging technologies, especially AI and spatial computing.
The initiative follows Google's backing of the indie horror film "Cuckoo" and continues its push to raise awareness of tools like Gemini, its AI platform.
"100 Zeros" will not use YouTube as its main release platform, focusing instead on partnering with traditional studios and streaming services like Netflix.
The collaboration also builds on a prior agreement between Google and Range Media to commission films centered around AI, including upcoming releases "Sweetwater" and "LUCID."
Amid rising production costs and potential tariffs affecting Hollywood, Google sees this move as a strategic way to promote its innovations while leveraging the storytelling power of film.
This effort mirrors broader trends in the entertainment industry, where tech companies seek cultural influence to drive tech adoption.
Google declined to comment publicly on the Business Insider report cited by Reuters.
