FIR Filed Against India’s Got Latent Contestant Over Controversial Joke!

A joke on India's Got Latent has sparked outrage, leading to an FIR against contestant Jessy Nabam over comments about Arunachal Pradesh's people and their eating habits.

During a recent episode, Samay Raina asked Jessy if she had ever eaten dog meat. She denied it but claimed that "people in Arunachal do." She added, "My friends eat it, sometimes even their own pets." While the panel, including Balraj Singh Ghai, laughed, Jessy stood by her words.

The clip spread like wildfire on social media, with many calling it offensive and derogatory. Soon after, an FIR was lodged against Jessy by Armaan Ram Welly Bakha, a resident of Seppa, East Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. The complaint, addressed to the Itanagar Police Station, accused her of insulting the indigenous community and urged authorities to take quick action to prevent such remarks in the future.

So far, Samay Raina and the show's panelists have not responded to the controversy, but discussions around comedy, free speech, and cultural sensitivity have reignited across platforms.

What is India’s Got Latent?

A YouTube sensation, India's Got Latent is one of the most-watched comedy shows, featuring guests like Uorfi Javed, Rakhi Sawant, Tanmay Bhatt, Farah Khan, Bharti Singh, Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Raftaar, Poonam Pandey, Tony Kakkar, Avika Gor, and Raghu Ram.

Samay Raina, who rose to fame as a co-winner of Comicstaan 2, has turned the show into an internet phenomenon. However, this incident has put it in the spotlight for reasons beyond comedy.

Will there be an apology? Will the show address the controversy? Stay tuned as the drama unfolds!
