On August 5, 2025, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined the “Kude Se Azadi” cleanliness campaign in Sanjay Basti, Timarpur, urging all residents to take ownership of their surroundings .
Accompanied by MLA Surya Prakash Khatri, Gupta highlighted the campaign’s collaborative nature - working closely with Resident Welfare Associations, NGOs, and religious groups. She noted how a video of a young boy cleaning a bus stand inspired hope, stating: “If every citizen begins to consider Delhi's cleanliness as their own responsibility, no one can stop the city from becoming truly clean” .
Launched on August 1, this month-long initiative aims to involve multiple civic agencies and citizens in waste management and sanitation improvement across Delhi. The campaign is part of CM Gupta’s broader push for public participation, complementing her city-wide “Delhi Ko Koode Se Azaadi” drive to achieve a cleaner, greener capital by August 31 .
This movement builds on previous efforts like the 20‑day city-wide cleanliness blitz earlier in May 2025, where multi-agency collaboration tackled encroachments, garbage hotspots, and sanitation accountability .
Gupta’s message is clear: beyond government action, it's the collective civic responsibility that will transform Delhi into a truly clean city.
