India’s dairy industry has just made a global statement. At an international cheese competition in Brazil, Indian artisanal cheeses won multiple top awards, putting the country on the global gourmet map.
The biggest highlight was a Brie-style cheese from Kashmir that secured the top “Super Gold” recognition. Alongside it, traditional cheeses like Yak Churpi from Ladakh also impressed judges with their unique taste, texture, and authenticity.
What makes this moment significant is the shift it represents. India is no longer just known for milk production-it is now gaining attention for high-quality, handcrafted cheeses. Local ingredients, traditional techniques, and regional flavors are helping Indian producers stand out globally.
This achievement also reflects the growing demand for artisanal and sustainable food products worldwide.
In simple terms, India isn’t just exporting dairy anymore-it’s exporting craftsmanship, culture, and innovation.
