Your daily habits? A hundred years ago, people would’ve judged you HARD. What feels normal today was once seen as disrespectful, careless, or even shocking.
Using your phone while someone’s talking would’ve been extremely rude. Even looking away mid-conversation was considered disrespectful back then. Today, we casually scroll while “listening.”
Being casually late wasn’t a thing. Showing up even 5–10 minutes late reflected poorly on your character. Now, it’s almost expected.
Eating while walking or rushing meals would’ve looked uncivilised. Food wasn’t just about eating, it was about sitting down, slowing down, and being present.
Talking too casually, especially with elders, didn’t sit well in earlier times. Conversations had a level of formality that we’ve almost completely lost today.
Clicking pictures of everything, from food to random moments, would’ve seemed strange. Photography was rare and intentional, not something you did every few minutes.
And something as simple as ignoring people in public or wearing headphones to avoid interaction would’ve been seen as cold or disrespectful. If you were there, you were expected to engage.
Even interrupting someone mid conversation carried more weight back then. Today, it happens so often, we barely register it.
Funny how things change. What was once rude is now just normal life.
And honestly, 100 years from now, we might be the “rude generation.”
