India launched Operation Sindoor, a bold retaliation targeting nine terror bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), in response to the brutal Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. The precision strikes, carried out by the Indian Armed Forces and Indian Air Force, targeted terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen, all internationally designated terrorist organizations.
The operation's name, Sindoor, symbolizes the vermilion worn by married Hindu women, paying tribute to widows like Himanshi Narwal, who lost her husband, naval officer Vinay Narwal, during the Pahalgam massacre. Strikes hit key locations including Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, Markaz Taiba in Murdike, and camps in Muzaffarabad and Kotli.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi monitored the operation closely, with the Indian Army declaring online, “#PahalgamTerrorAttack Justice is Served.”
This marked India's most significant cross-border military action in decades, underscoring a resolute message: terror provocations will meet swift, decisive justice.
