After the winning of Donald Trump as US President for the second time, he has been in the news all over for his policies and schemes he would pull up with when he returns to the White House.
Friendship of Elon Musk and Trump has been a matter of interest for many people because of the way he has endorsed Trump in 2024 elections but this ‘closeness’ wasn’t the way it is today as in 2016 and 2020 Musk sided with Trump’s rivals, Hilary Clinton and Joe Biden.
So, what strikes the bond between the two?
Elon Musk and Donald Trump had a profound ‘disliking’ for Joe Biden which became the turning point in their relationship. Musk began criticising him after his company didn’t receive an invitation to the White House’s summit on electric cars in 2021. Subsequently, he called the Democratic Party “the party of division and hate”.
A new department backed by Trump has been announced that would be headed by Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, with the name ‘DOGE’.
The Republican Party has for long advocated a leaner government, with fewer red tape regulations and fewer taxes and therefore, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) came to power.
The Department would be held by Elon Musk and Indian-origin, Vivek Ramaswamy. The duo is expected to reconstruct finances and government departments. Trump stated, “Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the “Save America” Movement. “This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!”
Musk ensured that DOGE would be highest in terms of transparency and inclusion from citizens as they will post on X whatever decisions would be claimed. The netizens would even have the liberty to judge the decision and make corrections if needed.
Although there isn’t any sure way of the department’s working has been made official but Trump names it as “The Manhattan Project of our time”.
