The Met Gala - Did the Indians leave a lasting impact?

On the first monday of May, as customary, the grand fundraiser event 'Met Gala', was organised in New York City. This year, the theme was "Tailored for you- Black Dandeyism", which commemorates the rise of Black fashion, after a long battle from the slave culture. Big dramatic collars and sleeves, huge broches, suits and hats, all tailored for person wearing them.
This year, the bollywood heartthrobs and Indian Superstars made a grand entrance at the gala, shocking the desi and international audience. The Bollywood King, Shahrukh Khan made an appearance in a black sabyasachi suit, adorned with jewellery, being his charismatic self. The to-be mother, Kiara Advani, flaunted her baby bump in a structural gown by Gaurav Gupta.
The punjabi singer and dream boy Diljit Dosanjh, displayed Royalty and payed homeage to the state of punjab in a long kurta, and a cape which inscribed the letters from the gurumukhi script, all designed by Prabal Gurang.India's hollywood sensation, the desi girl Priyanka Chopra was seen in a huge hat and dress, all polka dotted, styled by Mimi Cuttrell.
Manish Malhotra, made his debut in a huge black suit, flawlessly displaying elements of Black Dandeyism. Indian billionaires Mona Patel, Isha Ambani, and Natasha Poonawala, also graced the carpets of Met gala, displaying Black Dandeyism with a touch of Indian-ness to it. This year's Gala was taken over by Indian sensations, and each one of them graced the Gala even more.
