The ongoing Maha Kumbh, a colossal religious celebration at Prayagraj, isn't just an event for any one caste or religion. It is a grand melting pot of faith, culture, and humanity, declared Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a candid interview with NDTV Editor-in-Chief Sanjay Pugalia during the channel's special "Maha Kumbh Samvaad."
"Sanatan Dharma is India's National Religion," Yogi Adityanath proclaimed. "It’s not just a belief system; it's the religion of humanity itself. The methods of worship may vary, but the essence remains the same- Sanatan Dharma unites us all. The Maha Kumbh stands as a living symbol of that unity," he said, reiterating his earlier statements on the subject.
Calling the Maha Kumbh a "Maha Parv", the Chief Minister emphasized its unparalleled significance. "Look at Makar Sankranti on January 14, six crore devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam! It is a powerful message of unity and harmony."
The Triveni Sangam, where the sacred Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers converge, is one of the holiest spots in India. For millions of pilgrims, it's a destination that transcends barriers of caste, creed, or community.
Yogi Adityanath also called on skeptics of Sanatan Dharma to witness the Maha Kumbh firsthand. "This is a universal celebration, free from discrimination. For those who criticize Sanatan Dharma, I say, don’t be blind like Dhritarashtra. Open your eyes and see the truth for yourself."
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13, is the world's largest religious gathering and will continue until February 26. With over 10 crore pilgrims already taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the festival truly showcases the unifying spirit of Sanatan Dharma.
