Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and Nita Ambani, Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, attended a pre-inauguration dinner hosted by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., marking the start of his second term. The Ambanis, among India’s most prominent business leaders, arrived in the U.S. capital on January 18 to participate in the inauguration-related events.
During the dinner, the Ambanis conveyed optimism about India-U.S. relations under Trump’s leadership. Their presence symbolizes India’s growing influence in global affairs, with discussions hinting at potential collaborations between the two nations. As per event organizers, the Ambanis are expected to have a significant presence during Trump’s swearing-in ceremony on January 20, seated alongside notable figures, including Cabinet nominees and tech leaders like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.
Adding to the celebratory tone, the Ambanis will attend a private candlelight dinner hosted by Trump, along with a gathering featuring Vice President-elect JD Vance. Other guests at the pre-inauguration events included Pankaj Bansal, associated with Trump Towers in India, and Kalpesh Mehta, instrumental in expanding the Trump brand across the country.
Trump’s return to the White House is being celebrated with grandeur, contrasting with the controversies of his departure in 2021. The inaugural events, including a parade and reception, underline his renewed commitment to uniting a divided nation. The Ambanis’ participation highlights the convergence of influential leaders from business and politics at this global stage.
