In an unexpected twist, KFC teamed up with Australian dental brand Hismile to launch a limited-edition toothpaste flavoured like its signature fried chicken. Drawing inspiration from KFC’s iconic blend of 11 herbs and spices, the brand described the product as delivering a mouthful of “hot, juicy Original Recipe Chicken,” followed by a refreshing finish.
Though it was first announced in an April 1 Instagram post—prompting some to believe it was a prank—KFC and Hismile confirmed it was very real. The quirky toothpaste was priced at $13 (approximately ₹1,123) and was exclusively sold on Hismile’s website. Despite its unusual appeal, the product sold out quickly, igniting a buzz online.
Koban Jones, Marketing Manager at Hismile, expressed excitement over the unique collaboration, highlighting their goal to push boundaries and have fun with the brand experience. Social media posts announcing the toothpaste garnered thousands of likes, and reactions ranged from amused curiosity to complete disbelief.
For those who missed out on the toothpaste, KFC enthusiasts can still purchase a branded electric toothbrush priced at $59 (around ₹5,097). The toothbrush features soft-tapered bristles, three cleaning modes, and a built-in timer—blending fun with functionality.
This isn’t KFC’s first foray into offbeat lifestyle products. In the past, the brand released a limited-edition BBQ-scented perfume in the UK called “No. 11 Eau de BBQ,” which featured smoky wood and charcoal notes.
Hismile hasn’t yet confirmed if the chicken-flavoured toothpaste will make a comeback.
