Is your daily breakfast toast silently harming your gut?

Dr. Mickey Mehta, holistic health coach to the Ambanis and Sachin Tendulkar, believes so-and he isn't mincing words. In a fiery Instagram post, he warned, “Your gut will become a gutter if you eat bread every day.”

 

Dr. Mehta's daughter suddenly felt dizzy and “high” without consuming alcohol. The symptoms pointed to a rare condition: Auto Brewery Syndrome, where the gut ferments food-like bread-into ethanol (alcohol), causing unexpected intoxication-like effects.

 

Multigrain bread. Yes, the one most consider "healthier." It had triggered the bizarre reaction. After medical tests ruled out other causes, Dr. Mehta connected the dots-undigested bread turning into alcohol inside the body.

 

Dr. Mehta warns that bread, whether white or multigrain, clogs your intestines and could lead to deeper health issues. He believes it's one of the most dangerous processed foods in our diets.

 

If you must eat bread, do so only when starving, he says. To cleanse the gut, he recommends Isabgol (psyllium husk)-a natural way to “sandwich” and flush out bread from your system.
